Is there any reliable way of verifying data written to a CD or DVD is a reliable and readable copy? Nero burnt two DVDs and then failed on the verify, but I think (from accessing them via Explorer) that they are OK. I can't reasonably open every file to check it is OK so is there any software that will verify data writtent CD/DVDs? I found this You are not allowed to view links.

I've never used it, but it looks good enough.

I recently burned a backup of my last two year's work to DVD, and got a verify error in CDBurnerXP. However, the log pinpointed that the error failed on a single file (a Word template file), so I could at least see where it had failed. As the file is backed up elsewhere and still used now, I didn't worry too much about it. Even when it happened again on my second backup to DVD.

With that in mind, I suspect one or possibly more of the files have failed verification. Hopefully - assuming it still exists - the Nero log files can tell you what failed verification.
